Budget Cruise by Bonnie K from Destin,FL
Sailing date: Jul 2010

Pros:
Room Service

Cons:
Entertainment

This was my first cruise with Carnival. After reviewing the information provided by the Cruise 411 website along with the Carnival website, we decided to try this cruise line. We were very disappointed. The impression I got was one of a "budget cruise". I would not chose this cruise again, nor would I recommend it.

Ship Quality
The ship had basic decor. Nothing impressing.

Dining/Food
Dining experience in the dining room was good. However, portions we small. All other areas of food choice and quality were poor. Ship states it has a "sushi bar" however you are limited to three very poor choices.

Stateroom Quality
Overall the stateroom was good. The shower in the bathroom sprayed outside of the shower everytime someone showered. Pressure in the shower was good. Housekeeping kept the rooms very nice. We had an Oceanview room, lighting was great. Ship noise, not passenger noise, was awful!

Ship Staff Quality
Definately not what I experienced with my previous cruises on RC. Carnival's staff was just staff. No one went above and beyond.

Entertainment & Activities
The entertainment was ok. Choices were limited. Comedy was great. Entertainers were good. Thought it was very low budget to have the entertainment for one night that of fellow cruise goers.

Children's Programs
I traveled with two 12 year olds (boy & girl). Both were completely bored with the cruise.

Our carnival cruise by A Traveler from Georgia
Sailing date: Dec 2009

Pros:
The closeness of the port, the price, the get-togerther, the sea

Cons:
ship was too old (1994), too small 70k tones), 2 kids got sick:vomitng and diarrhea

I loved the sea. I hated the food poisoning. The ports of call (Key West and Nassau) were great. The on-shore excursion guide for Atlantis was poor; it was obvious that she did not want to be there.

When possible select a ship that is younger than 10 years old and greater than 100,000 tones.

Dining/Food
Food was not great and members of the crew did not smile much. Too many dining areas were too close to smoking areas.

They worked hard and it was hard work to keep a 15 year-old ship in ship shape.

Entertainment & Activities
The Cruise Director tried hard; he was a "one man army" as my son put it. ut the shows were home-made and it showed.

My 8th cruise with Carnival by Danny the Cruiser from indiana
Sailing date: May 2008

Pros:
The onboard experience is what keeps me coming back

Cons:
This particular cruise (onboard the Fascination) was the worst of all the Carnival Ships I have been on. The Staff wasnt as friendly as those onboard other ships.

The ship itself is great. Very clean, smooth floating vessel. The food is great, service in the resturant is outstanding. The clubs on the ship played jus the right mixture of music.

Ship Staff Quality
I have to say that I was dissapointed in the overall staff attitude. They really didnt seem to want to be bothered by the guest. I was shocked because normally the staff would greet you as you pass then or when they pass you, but they didnt do that on this particular cruise. The stateroom stewards and the resturant staff were the exceptions.
