a great cruise
by Bruce A. from Columbus, MS

Pros:
the food
Cons:
no pool on the adults only deck, only 2 hot tubs
The ship was fine, and we thought that late dining would be bad, but it turned out to be a great thing.

Don't do back to back on this ship
by JR from United States
Sailing date:
Dec 2009
Pros:
The dining room staff
Cons:
Inefficiency of Guest Relations
We only had negative contacts with Guest Services. They did not notify us of the requirements to clear each time and inconvenienced us with multiple visits to the desk (standing in line ignoring the Concierge Status we held). The gym program was also lacking with a less than enthusiatic staff member. The only salvation for the 3 back to back cruises was the excellent room steward and the fabulous dining room staff.

Dining/Food
The food in comparison with the Spirit (4th cruise in Dec. 2009) was markedly poorer. Many dishes were the same but far better on the Spirit.
Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff Quality
Your Time Dining Staff all went above and beyond. They knew us and we never had to wait.
Entertainment & Activities
Same shows as last year.

Dining/Food
Our dining room experiences were all bad. I have cruised before, although not with Carnival. The first meal - jumbo shrimp coctail ( 4 very small), steak (tough) tilapia (overcooked) cheesecake (3 at the table ordered and all agreed it was horrible). The last 2 dinners we all decided it was safer to go with appetizers. Tomato/mozzerella salad, cold strawberry soup, melon/procuitto, and aspargus soup was excellent. Chocolate melting cake was perfect the once, overcooked the second. The staff rushed us thru our meal. We were never told we could order more item and never asked if we would like more.
Stateroom Quality
Bathroom sink was chipped and carpet was stained.
Ship Staff Quality
All staff, except for dining room staff, went out of their way to acknowledge us and were very friendly
